"The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man's." – Mark Twain, Letter to W D Howells, 4/2/1899

Walk Your Dog.

For you it’s just a walk, for your dog it is much more than that.

It is a very important part of their day. For hundreds of thousands of years dogs have ‘travelled’. It’s what they do, it’s in their bones. They have to ‘go’. In the wild, it is how they survive. They move in order to find water and food. Every time you take your dog for a walk you honour that part of their soul that knows that they have to travel in order to survive.

A lot of ‘behaviour problems’ in dogs can be traced back to the fact that their owners do not walk them every day.

It’s good for you too.

I would write more but I have to take the dogs for a walk.

I couldn’t agree more. I am relieved that that long period of waiting is finally over, Barney had his last shots 2 weeks ago and we finally were able to go for a walk outside. He was getting frustrated with being stuck in the house/limited outside on our porch. Now he can run and walk!

    • Good for Barney. Our little bloke was so young when we rescued him that it was several weeks before we could walk him so he rode in my jacket pocket. Not quite the same but at least he got to see some scenery. Enjoy your walks.
